Chameleon time!

It’s been about a year since the passing of our old Chameleon Buddy, and we now have a chance to get a new one, thanks to the wonderful folks at Dino Reptiles.

We first met Norm and Diane at reptile expo in Ottawa last April. They were the only ones at the expo with baby Bearded Dragons (something we had been looking for). We bought Flash, and got talking to them and found out that they are in Manotick, and sold feeder insects. We started going to them for all of our cricket and worm needs.Soon, we got the chance to take in one of the rescues they had, a collared lizard. We already had the tank, and just needed some lights, then we picked up Ty.

Currently they are boarding a veiled chameleon for a guy that just isn’t interested in it anymore, and has said that if we see the chameleon and like it, we can have it! Amanda and I went out there Monday night to check him out after Diane called us, and we loved him! He’s about 2 1/2 years old and has beutiful colourings. We would have taken him home that night, but we didn’t have anything setup for him at home, so we said we would be by on Wednesday to pick him up. We came home Monday, and imediatly began getting things setup. Flash and Ty have been moved out of Critter Corner and into our sunroom, with a lovely view out our patio door. The Flexarium we’re using is about 30”x30”x48”, so it takes up the whole corner.

As far as we know the chameleon currently doesn’t have a name, so we are going to name him Champ. I was thinking up names i could get from chameleon, and that popped into my head, because he’s such a champ for having an owner that doesn’t really care him.

We are heading over to Dino Reptiles after work to pick him up, so I will get some pics posted either tonight or tomorrow.
