Fixing the retaining wall, part one

We have a retaining wall at the end of our backyard that creates a nice little spot to hang out down by the river. Unfortunately it was never fully finished and over the years that end has started slipping towards the river. This summer we have decided to fix it. The first stage of that has started today. My dad came over and we got the old cinder blocks removed and Amanda’s dad came over with the backhoe to dig out the stuff that had slipped down. Once we got that removed, we started looking at ways to fix the wall properly. We decided to start off with making a solid base for the wall as it was pretty muddy down by the river. We got the form built and got the cement mixed. Now it just has to set for a couple days, and then we can start adding the cinder blocks in . Hopefully this can be done in a couple days, cause once it’s finished, we can start putting up the fence across the whole backyard. It’s gonna be a busy summer!
