Darwin’s Bulldogs Game 1
We had our first game last, my first game ever of floor hockey, and it was tons of fun. Sure, we lost 14-1, and I am extremely sore today, and I was very out of breath for most of the game, but it was still tons of fun!
The night started out badly, because of last minute schedule changes, half of our team showed up to the correct location, while the other half (including our goalie) were at the old location. Luckily the other team agreed to play with fewer people until the rest of our team arrived. But that left me in goal until they did show up, with no goalie experience, and leather gloves and a helmet for protection.
That only lasted about 10 minutes, then the rest of our team showed up, and the real game started. It was pretty intense, with lots of running back and forth, but I did better than I thought I would. The hour flew by, and before I knew it the game was over.
After the game, the team headed over to the Royal Oak for some much needed alcohol and food. All in all it was a great night, and I look forward to doing it every Tuesday for the next couple of months.
